What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files saved on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember things — for us, that mainly means remembering whether you have accepted cookies, and (if you agree) measuring how the site is used. Similar tools, such as local storage or pixels, can do a similar job. This policy covers those too.
How we ask for consent
When you first visit, we show a cookie banner. Essential only keeps the consent cookie and does not load analytics. Accept cookies also allows Google Analytics (see below). You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the footer.
There are no advertising networks and no social-media tracking pixels on these pages.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
If you choose Accept cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site — for example which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (at a high level), and which devices or browsers are common. We use this to improve the site, not to sell advertising against your browsing.
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited (and related Google companies). When it runs, your browser may send information such as page URL, referrer, device/browser details, approximate location derived from IP address, and a randomly generated client identifier stored in cookies. Google may process that information on our behalf. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use Analytics.
Analytics cookies are only set after you accept optional cookies. If you choose Essential only, Google Analytics does not load and these cookies are not used by us.

Exact cookie names and lifetimes can vary slightly as Google updates Analytics. Related requests may also be made to Google domains when the script runs.
Maps
The find-a-celebrant map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap so you can see where celebrants work. Your browser requests those tiles directly; that is ordinary map use, not an advertising cookie. The map may also cache tiles in your browser so it loads more quickly next time. That caching is not used to identify you for marketing.
How to change your mind
Use Cookie settings in the website footer — or the button below — to open the banner again and pick a different option. Choosing Essential only means we will not load Google Analytics for later visits while that choice stands. You can also delete cookies for this site in your browser settings. If you clear cookies, we will ask you again on your next visit.
You can also use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on if you wish.
Enquiries and other information you send us
Contact, join and training enquiry forms send us the details you type (such as your name and email) so we can reply. That is not done with cookies. How we handle that personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
