What this policy covers
It explains how we handle personal information when you use countycelebrantsnetwork.com — mainly when you send us a message through a contact or join form. Separate member celebrants who you contact directly are responsible for their own privacy practices.

Information we collect
Enquiry forms
When you use the contact or join forms, we collect the details you choose to send us. That can include:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (if you provide one)
- County, postcode or location (if you provide one)
- Enquiry type or subject
- Your message
Please do not include medical information, payment card details, or other highly sensitive personal information in a form message.
Technical and security information
To protect the site from spam and abuse we may process limited technical data such as an approximate request time and a hashed form of your IP address for rate limiting. We do not use that alone to profile you for marketing.
Cookies and analytics

Why we use your information
We use enquiry form information to:
- Respond to your message
- Provide information about celebrants, ceremonies, training or joining
- Keep a record of the enquiry so we can follow up properly
Our legal basis under UK GDPR is usually legitimate interests (running and responding to website enquiries) and, where needed, steps prior to a contract if you are asking about training or membership. Cookie analytics that are not strictly necessary rely on your consent.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We use trusted service providers to run the website and deliver messages, including:
- Hosting — so the website can be served securely
- Email delivery — so your form submission can reach us
- Google Analytics — only if you accept optional cookies
If your enquiry is about finding a celebrant, we may put you in touch with a Network member. We only share what is needed for that introduction. Individual celebrants then handle their own follow-up with you.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails and related details for as long as we need them to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for follow-up and record-keeping, then delete or securely dispose of them. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics settings and Google’s tools.
International transfers
Some providers (such as hosting, email or analytics tools) may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision where available.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to ask for a copy of information you provided to us. To exercise these rights, email enquiries@countycelebrantsnetwork.com.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information — see ico.org.uk.
Children
This website is aimed at adults making enquiries about ceremonies, training or membership. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through these forms.
